What does Watcher do?
Watcher helps you keep track of every TV show you watch. Search for a show, track it, mark episodes as you watch them, and Watcher shows you exactly what's Up Next — with an episode calendar and reminders so you never lose your place.
How do I start tracking a show?
Open the Search tab, find the show, and tap the track button. It's added to your Library and starts showing up in Up Next once you mark an episode watched.
How do I mark episodes watched?
Open a show, go into a season, and tap an episode to mark it watched. You can also mark "watched through" a specific episode to catch up in bulk in one tap.
I marked something watched by mistake. Can I undo it?
Yes — right after marking an episode, an Undo option appears briefly. If you missed that window, you can simply mark the episode unwatched again.
Does Watcher work offline?
Yes. Your tracked shows and watch history are stored on your device, so the App works fully offline. Anything you do while offline syncs automatically the next time you're back online.
Is there an Apple TV app?
Yes — Watcher is available on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, with your library kept in sync between them.
Is there a Home Screen widget?
Yes, on iPhone and iPad. Add the Watcher widget to see what's Up Next without opening the App.
Connecting Trakt.tv
What is Trakt.tv and why would I connect it?
Trakt.tv is a popular independent service for tracking what you watch. Connecting it lets Watcher import your existing Trakt history and watchlist, and keep both in sync going forward.
How do I connect my Trakt account?
Go to Settings → Trakt and tap Connect. You'll be taken to Trakt's own sign-in page — we never see your Trakt password.
What happens to my existing Trakt history when I connect?
Watcher imports your Trakt watchlist so it's reflected in the App. From then on, episodes you mark watched in Watcher are pushed to your Trakt account, keeping the two in sync.
How do I disconnect Trakt?
Go to Settings → Trakt and tap Disconnect. This removes the connection from your device immediately; it does not delete anything from your Trakt.tv account itself.
Do I need a Trakt account to use Watcher?
No. Trakt is entirely optional — Watcher's core tracking features work fully without connecting anything.
Sync & multiple devices
Does Watcher require an account?
No. Watcher works immediately with an anonymous identifier so your library can sync between your own devices. If you'd like your library tied to your Apple ID instead of a single installation, sign in with Apple from Settings.
My shows aren't showing up on my other device.
Make sure both devices are online and, if you want your library to follow your Apple ID rather than a single device, that you've signed in with Apple with the same Apple ID on both. Sync usually happens within a few seconds of a connection being available.
Watcher PRO
Do I need to subscribe to use Watcher?
No — Watcher's core features (search, track, mark watched, Up Next, calendar, notifications) are available without a subscription. Watcher PRO, where offered, unlocks additional optional features shown in the App.
How do I cancel my subscription?
iOS Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Watcher → Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. We can't cancel subscriptions for you — Apple manages this directly.
How do I get a refund?
All purchases are processed by Apple, so refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We don't have the ability to issue refunds ourselves.
I subscribed but Watcher PRO isn't showing up.
Look for a Restore Purchases option in Settings. This re-syncs your purchase from Apple. If it still doesn't appear after a minute, email us with your purchase confirmation from Apple.
Privacy and data
Do you sell my data?
No. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, and we don't run ads in the App.
How do I delete my data?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account to permanently delete your synced tracked shows, watch history, lists, and account identifier. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown of what we collect.
Does Watcher use my camera or photos?
No — Watcher has no camera or Photo Library feature at all.
Troubleshooting
Search isn't returning any shows.
Search relies on a live connection to our show-data provider — check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, email us with the show title you searched for.
Up Next isn't showing the episode I expect.
Up Next is based on the most recent episode you marked watched for that show. Double-check the show's season/episode list to confirm which episode is actually marked watched, and mark or unmark as needed.
I'm not getting episode-release reminders.
Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Watcher, and make sure notifications are allowed. Also confirm reminders are turned on for that specific show inside the App.
The App crashed.
Please email us with your device model, OS version, and a description of what you were doing when it happened. The more detail, the faster we can fix it.
